Opening Doors: The 37th Annual U.S. Bank Golf Classic

On September 8, 2025, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford hosted the 37th Annual U.S. Bank Golf Classic at Tumble Brook Country Club. What began nearly four decades ago as a way to unite the community through golf has grown into one of the Club’s signature events, raising vital funds to support Hartford’s Club kids. This year’s Classic carried that tradition forward with excitement, generosity, and impact.

Guests enjoyed a day on the green and heard from 11-year-old Kalel, a member of our Southwest Club, whose story embodies the heart of our mission. Through the First Tee golf program, Kalel has gained resilience, confidence, and the joy of trying new things. Speaking to over 200 guests, he reminded everyone why this event matters: supporting the Golf Classic is an investment in Club kids and their futures.

Thanks to our volunteers, the Development Team led by Tomeka Cole, and generous community partners, the event ran seamlessly. From check-in to the final toast at sunset, the day reflected the energy and dedication it takes to keep the Club doors open for Hartford youth. With the support of sponsors and guests, Club kids will continue to access mentors, programs, and opportunities that help them learn, grow, and thrive.
