Power Hour: Making Minutes Count, a homework-help program, encourages Club members to become self-directed learners through daily homework help and tutoring.
Designed specifically to help youth and teens with homework. Dedicated youth development professionals and volunteers supervise each session and help youth members complete their assignments for the day. When they finish their work, they may choose to participate in a variety of other engaging and educational activities to develop their skills even further.
Power Hour is a great opportunity for kids and teens to get their homework completed in a quiet place with support from the trained, caring staff at a Boys & Girls Club.
Our teen Club members participated in June Archer Arts Academy during our summer program. They learned DJing, dance & choreography, music & lyrics, and film & screenwriting. What an opportunity for them to learn from celebrities/professionals about the entertainment industry.
“What does outdoor experiential learning look like at Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Camps? Thanks to @LL Bean and @BGCA, 48 kids learned the foundations of archery and kayaking. Most importantly, they fell in love with the outdoors! Great partnerships lead to Great Futures!! “
