Early Childhood Learning Center

The Early Learning Center provides a social learning environment that nurtures and supports Pre-K students as they actively experience with and explore language, mathematics and science.

Working with families to meet the individual needs of each child, our staff provides a holistic approach that encourages parents to be actively involved in their children’s educational journey every step of the way.

Students participate in instructional programs that develop their oral and written communication skills through art, music, drama, hands-on science activities, children’s literature and technology. The curriculum is aligned with the Common Core of State Standards (CCSS), the Preschool Assessment Framework, the Formative Assessments and the Connecticut State Department of Education Preschool Standards.

The Makerspace powered by Infosys Foundation USA participated in a contest with BGCA, combining art with STEM - the Fine Arts/Makerspace interdisciplinary project.

our members created their own tiles. Together they created a laser etched community arts project over the course of several weeks.

Working with members of the Asylum Hill Club, all ages, from the Early Learning Center up to staff members. Each participant designed their own translucent tile using either a computer design program or markers and paper to represent themselves in a positive light.

We hope you enjoy these creations as much as we do! We love the creativity and talent of our members and are happy to be able to share it with the community.
