Through our Character & Leadership programs, we are helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and acquire skills to participate in the democratic process. Our Club members develop leadership skills and gain opportunities for planning, decision-making, contributing to the Clubs and community, and celebrating our national heritage.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

The Boys & Girls Clubs Diversity, Equity & Inclusion programs are removing barriers to creating opportunity and advancement. We can continue to move towards racial equity by shaping a robust dialogue among Club leaders, staff, board, volunteers, and young people. These specialized initiatives provide Club staff with training and resources to ensure young people who are frequently marginalized or overlooked can be included and supported at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford.

Education & STEAM

Our Academic Success, STEAM, and Workforce Readiness programs complement and reinforce what youth learn at schools. Programs within this area enable youth to be effective, engaged learners who are on track to graduate. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford's programs prepare kids for academic success in school and in life.

Health & Wellness

Our Health & Wellness programs provide opportunities for kids and teens to enhance relationships with themselves and others, regulate emotions and solve problems. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford's Health & Wellness programs provide opportunities for kids and teens to enhance relationships with themselves and others, regulate emotions and solve problems.

Sports & Recreation

Our Sports & Recreation programs promote healthy development. Members engage in a variety of physical activities that build positive relationships with peers and encourage healthy habits. The Boys & Girls Clubs Sports & Recreation programs help develop physical fitness, reduce stress and promote a positive use of leisure time, appreciation for the environment and interpersonal skills.

STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math

We are committed to closing the opportunity gap in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) with innovative and creative programs, activity ideas and resources for Clubs and the youth we serve. Our learning environments provide unique opportunities to advance STEAM knowledge and interest in STEAM-related careers.

Workforce Readiness

Our Workforce Readiness programs provide young members with support in developing a plan for the future while building the skills and knowledge needed to make their plan a reality.
